The Horses

Penny

Meet Penny, the farm's namesake, a resilient mare oncevthought to be 13 years old and labeled stubborn and untrainable. Rescued from a feedlot where she faced slaughter, she surprised us at as being clearly only four years old. Now, Penny has blossomed into a strong, confident mature beauty, earning the respect of all in her mare family.

Chances

Meet Chances, aka Mama, a resilient Standardbred. Once a race track champion, she faced abandonment when victories ceased. Despite bearing marks of her past, she now thrives in an environment of love and kindness, embracing the freedom to just be herself.

Rose

Meet Rose, a majestic Percheron, once burdened by pulling carriages and sleighs full of tourists. Exhausted in body and spirit, she finallt collapsed on a city street. Her owners surrendered her to us, freeing her from demands, and allowing her to regain full health. In her family of mares she lives freely, embracing her true self.

Maya

Maya, a resilient foundation Quarterhorse. Separated from her mother too early, she endured a thousand-mile journey to a perilous auction at just 4 months old, saved from the brink of meat slaughter. Now, a vibrant character, she shines in her own mare family—curious, bright, and beautiful.

Nikita

Nikita, a Canadian, strong and confident, saved because she sneezed while being sent to meat slaughter (a horse that shows any symptoms has to be restored to health before being slaughtered). Rescued because that sneeze bought her a second chance at life, she is a wonderful member of our family of mares.
